Polar Bears Fall to Grasshoppers, 6-4

San Bernardino and Billings duked it out at The Igloo and the Grasshoppers came out victorious.
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 6-4. Starting pitcher Corn Elder played a key role in the triumph. Elder went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 2-2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Xavier Medina.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when center fielder Eikki Kankaanperä, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in triples with 4, drew a walk. The Grasshoppers went on to win.
"This is a very good team," said Kankaanperä. "We have the chance to do something special."
San Bernardino is now 42-26. Billings is 37-31.
