Larate Rips Ottawa for 5 Hits
|
Pedro Larate put on a hitting clinic today as the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks dumped the Ottawa Nationals 11-1 at Thunder Hawks Ballpark.
The Ft. Polk South center fielder made Ottawa defenders earn their pay, lashing Ottawa pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Larate said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Pedro Larate singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
In 64 games Larate is hitting .317 this season with 76 hits, no home runs, 20 RBIs, 19 walks, .379 OBP and has scored 32 runs.
