Sixshooters Fall Short, 1-0, at Billings
|
Fans who gathered at The Igloo saw a good contest between the Billings Polar Bears and Westwood Sixshooters.
The Billings Polar Bears scored a 1-0 win versus the Westwood Sixshooters at The Igloo. Billings pitcher Martín García nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. García got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 4 innings. García allowed no earned runs.
In the bottom of the first, Roberto Fierro hit a solo home run for Billings. The 1st home run of the season for the Billings designated hitter put the Polar Bears on top, 1-0.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," García told the Billings Today. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
The Polar Bears saw their win-loss record go to 28-27. At the same time, the Sixshooters fell to 38-17.
