Jimbob Ghostkeeper helped his team muscle past the Casper Ghosts, 7-6. In the game, the Ft. Polk South designated hitter went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Ft. Polk South reliever Tommy Rowe picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Robert Cagle absorbed the loss. Casper, at 21-28, has lost 4 straight.
Had Ruggiero Veneziano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Veneziano hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Thunder Hawks.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Thunder Hawks manager Mark Harrison. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
