San Bernardino starter De John Cleland had a strong outing against the Yakima Hops at Field of the Grasshoppers. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Cleland, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Dane Bramble closed the door for San Bernardino, picking up his 4th save of the year.

San Bernardino took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two out, catcher Edgardo Bello hit a 2-run home run that electrified the crowd.
