Flamingos Lose to Patriots, 5-3
|
Boston played host to Las Vegas at the friendly confines of Dunkin Donuts Park.
The Boston Patriots stopped the Las Vegas Flamingos, 5-3, behind an impressive performance from Jorge Velázquez. The 27-year old first baseman made life miserable for Las Vegas pitching. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs. The Patriots, now 6-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from designated hitter Omer Yurtseven. For the game, Yurtseven was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 4th hit of the season gave Boston a 5-3 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Yurtseven. "I saw the ball well."
