The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks took Virginia Beach pitcher Yoshi Minamoto's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Virginia Beach Grounds. The final score had Ft. Polk South getting past the Deuces, 6-5. Minamoto went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 6. The win was Sima Babic's in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Gwang-soo Park took the loss for Virginia Beach. Ft. Polk South is now 22-18, Virginia Beach 17-23.
Ft. Polk South grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Sigi Lang delivered a 2-run single, to make it 6-4 in favor of the Thunder Hawks.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Lang said.
