Grasshoppers Cut Down Polar Bears, 3-1
|
San Bernardino Grasshoppers starter De John Cleland was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Billings Polar Bears, 3-1. Cleland, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. San Bernardino is now 23-16, Billings 21-18.
Early in the game, shortstop Luis García had a 2-run home run for San Bernardino. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Grasshoppers on top, 2-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Cleland told the San Bernardino Daily News.
