Ft. Polk South pitcher Seong-hyeon Pak gave the Grasshoppers all they could handle, but in the end, San Bernardino left Field of the Grasshoppers with a 3-1 win. Pak allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 5 innings. Felipe Casanova earned the win for San Bernardino. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 8 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 1-3. Vicente Durango recorded the save for San Bernardino, his 1st of the season.
Tony Ayala, who is tied for 5th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 9, helped out the San Bernardino cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman was 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" San Bernardino manager Manny Cuellar said.
San Bernardino now owns a record of 20-11.
