Blue Sox Win at Westwood, 5-3
|
The Irving Blue Sox picked up a win at Sixshooters Stadium, knocking off the Westwood Sixshooters, 5-3. Starting pitcher Onson Sweemey, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Matthew Fallows earned the save for Irving, his 4th of the year. Irving, now 8-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Bora Garasanin aided the Irving cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1-2, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Garasanin, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
