Polar Bears Deal Ghosts Painful Loss
|
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Casper Ghosts, 5-4, at The Igloo. Billings right fielder Jorge Vélez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The loss lowers the Casper record to 2-5.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Vélez hit a curveball from Robert Cagle for a run-scoring single. The Polar Bears, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," Vélez said.
