Nuggets Win at Grafton, 8-6
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Hieu De, the Rocky Mountain Nuggets defeated the Grafton Middies, 8-6. De went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Nuggets. Tsugahara Hori was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities. Even with the win, the Nuggets have a dismal 34-69 record.
Ed Adams contributed to the Rocky Mountain win with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," De told the Rocky Mountain Times.
