Lakers Lose to Middies, 5-2
|
The Grafton Middies picked up a win at Field of the Middies, knocking off the Echo Park Lakers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Luis Torres, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Torres went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-6. Kenete Daku converted his 22nd save in 26 tries.
Pedro Santos came through for Grafton with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Santos said.
