Oaks Get Past Echo Park for 6-5 Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a superb performance from left fielder Tony Vega, but the Oakland Oaks still won the game, 6-5. Vega was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. Reliever Oriol Razo picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. William DeWitt took the loss. Oakland has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Alfonso Nazario hit a run-scoring double off William DeWitt in the top of the eighth, which put the Oaks in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Nazario had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun. "The effort was great."
