Nuggets Come Up Short at Buckhead
The Buckhead Bowties eked out a 6-5 win versus the Rocky Mountain Nuggets at 5 Paces Park. Nobody did more than center fielder Kevin Baxter, who captured player of the game honors. Tomás Vargas, credited with the save, is now 7 for 9 in save opportunities. Buckhead improves to 58-26 with the win. They lead their division by 2˝ games.

Tied up with the Nuggets in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bowties got a boost from second baseman Raúl Ruíz. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Ruíz saw a first pitch fastball from Charles Dobson and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Buckhead on top, 6-5.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Ruíz said after the game.
