Les Bleus Lose, 5-2, at 5 Paces Park
|
The Buckhead Bowties picked up a win at 5 Paces Park, knocking off the Quebec City Les Bleus, 5-2. Starting pitcher Ron Manning, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 6.2 innings, Manning surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Tyler MacHugh was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 11 save opportunities.
The Bowties got a big at-bat from third baseman Yu-zeng Si. For the game, Si went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Buckhead a 3-2 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Si told the Buckhead Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Buckhead has 3 straight wins, Quebec City 4 straight losses.
