Hotspur Reserves Cut Down Buzz, 5-3
|
Alex Niemann left his imprint on the 5-3 Phoenix win against the Salt Lake City Buzz. Niemann, who is rated as the 73rd best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Adam Garrison picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 11 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-1. Alexander Weareorwear finished the game for Phoenix and earned his 4th save.
Early in the game, Niemann had a 2-run home run for Phoenix. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Hotspur Reserves on top, 3-1.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Niemann told the Phoenix Daily.
With the win, Phoenix improves its record to 4-6.
