Targaryens Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Drummers
|
The Royse City Targaryens eked out a 7-6 win versus the Tortolita Drummers at Royse City Stadium. Nobody did more than catcher Fernando Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors. Royse City reliever Pedro Tavárez was credited with the win, to go to 8-1. Kyle Buckman took the loss for Tortolita. Royse City leads the Silver AAA by 2 games.
Ramírez had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-1 changeup from Kyle Buckman, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Targaryens a 7-6 lead. It was the 29th hit of the year for Ramírez.
"This place sure got loud," said Chris Drew, the Royse City manager.
