The Scranton Supernovas beat the Tortolita Drummers, 5-1, at Drummers Ballpark. Scranton center fielder José Pacheco earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Scranton currently is in 9th place in the Silver AAA at 37-58.
The Supernovas had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the eighth. The score was 5-1, Scranton, with no one out. Tortolita, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Yifu Chen dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he hit into a double play.
