Monster Field was the site of a tense game between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Royse City Targaryens.
Royse City turned a good effort from starter Earl Farley into a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The final score was 3-1. Farley, the winner, moves to 6-6. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Manuel Torres was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Royse City relied on the hitting of Chris Fitzgerald to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Targaryens on top, 2-0. For the game, Fitzgerald had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
