Supernovas Shut Out Black Sox
|
Pitcher Apollo Cepeda was sensational for the Scranton Supernovas in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Baltimore Black Sox. Cepeda received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Jeff Schneider converted his 13th save in 19 tries. Scranton occupies 9th place in the Silver AAA at 35-55.
The Supernovas got a big at-bat from right fielder Ángel Aguilar. For the game, Aguilar went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Scranton a 2-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Aguilar, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
