Doubledays Slip Past Gryfindor, 5-4
|
Tremont left fielder Alan Elder was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Gryfindor Braves. Elder, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in home runs with 10, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Doubledays. Tremont reliever Seung-hyeon So picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Brian Peeks took the loss. Tremont now sits at 45-33, while Gryfindor falls to 40-38.
Late in the game, shortstop Alfredo Escalante had a big at-bat for Tremont. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Brian Peeks. The play gave the Doubledays a 5-4 lead.
Elder called the triumph "a good team win."
