Braves Prevail, 5-3, Over Tremont
|
The Gryfindor Braves beat the Tremont Doubledays, 5-3, at Doubledays Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman David Breitling, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Gryfindor reliever Rodrigo Torres picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Joey McCarthy absorbed the loss. The 4th-place Doubledays have lost 4 straight games.
Breitling had a key at-bat for Gryfindor early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Gryfindor an early 4-0 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Breitling.
