Drummers Take Nail-Biter Over Flyers
|
The Tortolita Drummers relied on the hitting of right fielder Glen Allen Mixon to stop the Pennsauken Flyers, 8-6. For the game, Mixon was 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Tortolita is now 37-32, while Pennsauken is 23-46.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Mixon hit a fastball from Manny Benavides for a 2-run home run. The Drummers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Mixon, "but we got it done."
