Morterero Helps Reserves Run Win Streak to 3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ramón Morterero, the Athletic Club KC Reserves defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 8-4. Morterero was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Reserves. Bob Sosa got the win, improving to 2-4. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Athletic Club KC now owns a record of 32-31.
Athletic Club KC grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Morterero, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in triples with 5, hit a grand slam home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Reserves out in front, 4-2.
"We're all smiles after that win," Morterero told the Athletic Club KC Herald.
