The Pennsauken Flyers got a superb performance from pitcher Romano Martínez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Gryfindor. The Braves won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Martínez was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Gryfindor reliever Marv Bradford picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mau Delgado was saddled with the loss. León Vallejo closed it out for his 8th save.
Gonzalo Ángel's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a curveball from Mau Delgado for a run-scoring single. It put Gryfindor in front, 3-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Ángel said.
Gryfindor is now 27-28.
