Drummers Deal Braves Painful Loss
|
Gryfindor got a terrific performance from pitcher Eduardo Molina, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tortolita Drummers. Tortolita won the Drummers Ballpark contest, 3-2. Molina was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Tortolita reliever Briggs Bourgeois was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Rodrigo Torres took the loss. Tortolita is now 23-28, while Gryfindor is 24-27.
Casey Cavell was the walk-off hero for Tortolita. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Drummers center fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
After the game, Tortolita manager Arturo Chávez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
