Braves Fall to Reserves, 3-1
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves topped the Gryfindor Braves, 3-1, in USSL Triple A action at Cayuse Ballpark. The player of the game was Athletic Club KC pitcher and Juarez, Mexico native Ángel Rivera. Rivera got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. Rivera allowed 1 earned run. António Hernández sewed up the save, his 4th.
Athletic Club KC took a 2-0 lead on Richard Younger's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Gryfindor pitcher Fred Gunther in the top of the seventh.
"We take it day by day here," said Rivera, "and today was a good one for us."
Athletic Club KC is 20-22 and Gryfindor, with the loss, 19-23.
