Drummers Win at Pennsauken, 6-4
|
Fans who gathered at Pennsauken Park saw a good contest between the Tortolita Drummers and Pennsauken Flyers.
The Tortolita Drummers defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-4, in USSL Triple A action at Pennsauken Park, with Tortolita pitcher Oswaldo Mobray named player of the game. Mobray went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-3. Briggs Bourgeois earned the save for Tortolita, his 6th of the year.
The Drummers got a big at-bat from second baseman Santo Alba. For the game, Alba went 1-3. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 26th hit of the season gave Tortolita a 3-2 lead.
Mobray told a Tortolita Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Drummers saw their win-loss record go to 17-19. At the same time, the Flyers fell to 11-25.
