Lake Monsters Get Road Win, 5-2
|
Vermont pitcher Santo Velazco did his part in helping his team beat the Scranton Supernovas, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Vermont is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Robert La Caze to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," La Caze told the Vermont Bulletin.
