Drummers Lose Again, 8-5, to Supernovas
|
The Scranton Supernovas defeated the Tortolita Drummers, 8-5. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Felipe Bruno, who was 1-3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Will Hoffman earned the win to go to 2-5. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Jeff Schneider, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Bruno contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Scranton get the win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bruno told a Scranton Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Tortolita has now lost 7 straight.
