Drummers Drop Another One
|
Ismael Calderón pitched a gem to lead Athletic Club KC to a 3-1 victory over the Tortolita Drummers. Calderón, now 2-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Getting the save was António Hernández, his 2nd.
Akihiko Fujii, who is rated as the 58th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Athletic Club KC cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher was 1-1 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Tortolita skipper Arturo Chávez, "and it cost us."
Tortolita's current losing streak is now 5 games.
