Lake Monsters Prevail, 4-3, Over Pawnee
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Pawnee ParksNRec at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Santo Velazco, who captured player of the game honors. Velazco got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Velazco allowed 2 earned runs. Vermont is now 16-8.
Woodrow Terrebonne, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in hits with 27, aided the Vermont cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Velazco said.
