Otis Brewer added some punch to the Tremont offense, helping them outmuscle the Tortolita Drummers, 10-7. In the game, Brewer, who was drafted in the two round of the 2024 draft, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tremont reliever Theodore Urban picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Pedro Figueroa shouldered the loss. It was the 12th win in 18 games this year for the defending champion Doubledays, who are picking up where they left off.
Geoffrey Broekhuizen tagged a home run off Pedro Figueroa in the bottom of the seventh. His solo blast put the Doubledays on top, 7-6. In all, Broekhuizen had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Lendon Tipton said.
