The Royse City Targaryens thumped the Scranton Supernovas, 10-2, at Nuclear Stadium. Gary Malone was a big reason his team got the win. Malone went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Currito Melena, who threw 108 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. The win lifts Royse City to a record of 4-4.
Joey Jones put Royse City in front, 10-2, when he took Pedro Rodríguez downtown. His 3-run home run came with one out in the top of the ninth. It was his 3rd home run of the season.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Targaryens manager Chris Drew.
