Getting a good performance from second baseman Robert La Caze, the Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Tortolita Drummers, 6-2. La Caze went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Lake Monsters. Bert Gean finished the game for Vermont and earned his 1st save. The win lifts Vermont to a record of 3-2.
Manuel Núñez came through for Vermont with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. The right fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
