Despite a great performance by Bloomington right fielder John Schaefer, the Calgary Lynx defeated the Longnecks by the score of 8-7 at Lynx Stadium. Schaefer went 2-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The loss drops Bloomington to 2-3.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Calgary first baseman Rodney Hanna, facing Gene Kirkland, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Lynx the 8-7 win.

"We've got a great group of guys," Hanna said, "and we're having fun right now."
