St. James Rips Jersey City for 5 Hits
|
Ed St. James put on a hitting clinic today as the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes dumped the Jersey City Tritons 11-4 at Jersey City Grounds.
The Santa Barbara shortstop made Jersey City defenders earn their pay, lashing Jersey City pitching for 5 hits in 8 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," St. James said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Ed St. James singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 10th, flied out in the 12th, singled in the 15th and hit an RBI single in the 15th.
St. James is hitting .417 this year with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .440, 1 walk and scored 3 times.
