Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Lancaster Farmers got the win.

The Lancaster Farmers did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Long Island Seawolves at Farmers Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mark Clift, who captured player of the game honors. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Lancaster.

Had José Xirau not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Xirau hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Farmers.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Xirau, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
