Reno and Tacoma met at Tennille Grounds in front of a lively crowd.

Reno withstood an impressive performance by Tacoma shortstop Júlio Rodríguez to defeat the Fur Traders, 6-4, at Tennille Grounds. Rodríguez went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bob Christison was credited with the save for Reno, his 5th of the season.

Spartak Gonjarov drove in one run for Reno. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Eric Colquhoun. It was his 67th RBI of the season.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Gonjarov said.

Reno is now 39-52. Tacoma is 39-52.
