Misfits Get Past Reno for 3-2 Win
|
The Misfits faced a stiff challenge from Reno pitcher Ryunosuke Kurota, but persevered to claim a win at Ricochets Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Kurota went 6.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Salem currently is in third place in the Silver AA at 34-30.
Javier López was the walk-off hero for Salem. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Misfits shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Afterward, Misfits manager José Vázquez was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
