Atoms Cut Down Farmers, 5-3
|
Lancaster pitcher Don Cantrell gave the Atoms all they could handle, but in the end, Bethesda left Farmers Field with a 5-3 win. Cantrell allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 5 innings. Manuel Ceja got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Bill Tench picked up the save for Bethesda, his 8th of the year.
Diego Rosas drove in one run for Bethesda. The 25-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tim Sandaele. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"This was a good win," said Rosas.
Lancaster's current losing streak is now 4 games.
