Farmers Clip Seawolves in Tight Contest
|
Fans who gathered at Ballpark of Remsen saw a good contest between the Lancaster Farmers and Long Island Seawolves.
The Lancaster Farmers took Long Island pitcher Mathieu Neri's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Remsen. The final score had Lancaster getting past the Seawolves, 4-3. Neri went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 7. Tim Sandaele, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Getting the save was Mannus Dijkman, his 11th.
Marcel Roks had a nice at-bat for the Farmers with no one out in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the first baseman grounded out, which would prove important in the Lancaster win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Lancaster manager Coy Knight. "It's usually not just one thing."
Lancaster is now 23-22.
