Salem pitcher Enrique Valle gave the Silver Sox all they could handle, but in the end, Reno left Tennille Grounds with a 3-0 win. Valle allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits over 7.2 innings. Reno reliever Herman Guevera picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Enrique Valle absorbed the loss. Reno is now 21-21.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Jim Gunther didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Salem trailing 1-0, Gunther retired Charles Basle to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Gunther, with a wink.
