The Lannister United Lionhearts faced a tough opponent in Bethesda pitcher Manuel Ceja, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Atoms Field by a final score of 6-5. Ceja went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Lannister United reliever Fernando Elías picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Bill Tench shouldered the loss. Lannister United is now 17-21, Bethesda 18-20.
Bill Boyd hit a run-scoring triple off Bill Tench in the top of the ninth, which put the Lionhearts in front, 6-5. Boyd had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Lannister United manager Ernesto Reyes.
