Starting pitcher Ryunosuke Kurota pitched well enough to help the Reno Silver Sox beat the Bethesda Atoms by the score of 6-4. Kurota got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. Kurota allowed 1 earned run. Reno has now won 3 in a row.
Jean Lechuga was 2-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Reno. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Rikkarti Gudmundur. It was his 26th hit of the season.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Kurota. "Successful pitchers do it."
