Misfits Best Silver Sox in Pitching Duel

Salem got a strong outing from Ollie McDaniell as the Misfits defeated the Reno Silver Sox, 2-1, at Ricochets Ballpark. McDaniell got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. McDaniell allowed 1 earned run. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Chris Hughes.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Reno hurler Jordan Turpin, Lu Tsai, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in total bases with 32, hit a single. The Misfits went on to win.
"Runs were at a premium," said Salem manager José Vázquez.
It was the 10th win in 16 games this year for the defending champion Misfits, who are picking up where they left off.
