Lionhearts Get Past Lancaster for 3-2 Win
|
The Lannister United Lionhearts picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Forest Stanley, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Earning his 2nd save for Lannister United was Fernando Elías. Lannister United is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 13 games.
Had Riley Walker not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Walker hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Lionhearts.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Walker told the Lannister United Herald.
