BC Jolt Nationals with Late Rally
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Ottawa Nationals were eager to watch Jeff Arocha square off against Luis Díaz of the visiting San Antonio BC. In the end, the BC won the game, 7-5, with Luis Díaz earning player of the game honors.
Had Dawit Lihalakha not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lihalakha hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the BC.
"We played hard and won," said Díaz. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
