Late Rally by Great Lakers Secures Win
|
Pure Michigan Great Lakers starter Edmund Blackadder turned in an exceptional performance against the Augusta Timber Hawks at Lansing Park, resulting in a Pure Michigan win, 3-2. The win was credited to Doran Turchin in relief. His record improves to 10-8. Drew Cullen took the loss. Joseph Merle got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances.
Pure Michigan took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, catcher Victor Schuur hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
In postgame comments to the Pure Michigan Daily, Schuur said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Pure Michigan now has a 3-game win streak.
